Geraldine Lions Club and Bike Geraldine proudly present:

THE GERALDINE MULTI CHALLENGE EVENT - SUNDAY 22 MARCH 2026

"ENTRIES OPEN 3 DECEMBER 2025"

Now a "must-do " annual fixture for recreational and competitive athletes alike, the Geraldine Multichallenge, organised by the Geraldine Lions and Bike Geraldine, takes in a purpose built single MTB tracks, Orari River trails, quiet back country roads and local farmland.

This event offers mountain bike, run and walk events - there are options for all ages and abilities 

All proceeds from the event benefit Geraldine LIons, Bike Geraldine and local community groups.

TEAMS EVENT - This year we are offering participants registered in the 32 km Intermediate Challenge the opportunity to also compete as part of a 3 person team at no additional cost (see details below).

 

EVENT OPTIONS

MOUNTAIN BIKING:

52 km Geraldine MTB Challenge - a challenging race for more competitive riders, this option has some hills and includes a combination of river and  farm tracks, back country roads and awesome single track riding.

32 km Intermediate Challenge  - still a good workout, this shorter race runs alongside the Orari River on purpose-built tracks including some easy single track riding.

(NEW) 32 km Intermediate Teams - This year registered participants in the 32 km Intermediate Challenge can also enter as part of a 3-person team at no extra cost.  Get together with some friends / family / work colleagues or whatever works for you, and enter a team in the Under 18 or Open categories.

18 km Recreational Fun Ride - designed for family groups and those who want to enjoy their ride without the competitive element, this event utilises the 4WD tracks and easy single track alongside the Orari River.

32 km Ebike -  just the one distance available, charge the battery and give it a crack! Male and female category, min age 18years and over.

RUN / WALK 

21km Half Marathon- mainly off road, a picturesque and predominantly flat route along the Orari River trails which will suit both competitive and social runners.

13.8km Run Challenge- predominantly off road along  the Orari River trails - a flat sheltered and picturesque route amongst the trees.

5.8km Fun Run/Walk- Perfect for first timers or those who just want to go out and have some fun. Give it a go, we're sure you will be back for more next year!

 

FEES & REGISTRATION

All entries are "online only" until lunchtime (12.00pm) Friday 20 March 2026. Early Bird pricing applies for entries received up until midnight on Monday 16 March 2026. Entries  after this date will be $10 extra (children under 18 years exempt).

Your entry fee includes a delicious burger/sausage from the Lions BBQ and inclusion in the Spot Prize draws. The MAJOR SPOT PRIZE is a new bike generously donated by THE CYCLERY Timaru.

Late entries: There are no late entries, you are able to enter online up until lunchtime on the Friday before the race. All entries are online only.

 

TEAMS REGISTRATION

 When you enter "on line" for the 32km Intermediate MTB event you will be asked at the end of the registration if you would like to enter a team.

- If you are the first member of your team to register then enter a name for your team and let your team mates know the Team Name, they can then join your team when they register. Or,

- When you register you can enter (and pay for) your team mates.  Your call.

PRIZES

Geraldine Multi Challenge Medals will be awarded to 1st - 3rd placegetters (subject to minimum entries in each category).

Certificates will be awarded to all Under 13 year competitors in both the 18km Recreational Ride and the 5.8km Run / Walk who complete the course.

Teams - no medals will be awarded for the teams event just your name on a trophy and most important of all, BRAGGING RIGHTS.
